Official name of our Moon

Official name of our Moon :-

In the past times, astronomers knew only of one moon, the moon that we see in the sky. So, they gave it its official name, the moon. However , now we know that many other planets have moons as well. So , the Earth's moon is always called the 'Moon' with a capital 'M' , while the other moons are written with a small 'm'.

Double planet:-

 Earth and Moon have shared a common history for 4500 million years. Knowing the Moon more thoroughly will help scientists to understand our home in space. Then we may be better able to safeguard it.

 

The Earth and the Moon are relatively close in size , unlike most planet-moon systems. in fact compared with the Earth, the Moon is far larger than any other moon in the solar system have less that 1/1000 of the mass of the parent planet.

 

                  The Moon does not just revolve around the Earth. It revolved around the Sun in concert with the Earth. So, people consider the Earth and Moon to be double planet system rather than a planet-moon system. Or we can say that the Moon is therefore satellite, but as Earth's sister or planet.
